Hussein Yassine

Dr. Hussein Yassine is a Professor of Neurology, Medicine, Physiology and Neuroscience at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California (USC), where he also serves as Director of the Center for Personalized Brain Health. He holds the Volk Endowed Chair of Neurology. Dr. Yassine's research focuses on how changes in lipid metabolism and nutrition impact cognition and Alzheimer's disease risk, with a particular interest in the effects of the APOE4 allele, the strongest genetic risk factor for Alzheimer's. His work spans basic science, clinical trials, and brain imaging studies. As a clinician, Dr. Yassine’s Center for Personalized Brain Health clinic focuses on preventing dementia in high-risk individuals.

Along with extensive publications in leading journals in his field, Dr. Yassine has received numerous awards recognizing his contributions, including the WAFMR Outstanding Investigator Award and the LA Best Professor Recognition Award in 2023.
