Vancouver Island School of Innovation and Inquiry
Purpose
To provide an alternative education model that fosters creativity and a love of learning.
The Vancouver Island School of Innovation and Inquiry (VISII) was founded in 2020 by a group of parents who recognized that the public school system was not serving their children’s needs or cultivating a love of learning. They formed the Epiphyte Educational Society, and although starting a brand new school in the midst of a global pandemic was challenging, other families soon joined the school community.
Three years later, VISII has blossomed into a vibrant, innovative space where learners can pursue their passions and nurture their curiosity, setting them up for whatever future they choose.
VISII engages children in grades 5 through 8 who are looking for a place where they can truly pursue their curiosity. It serves learners of all kinds, but specializes in those who love learning, aren’t afraid to dive into challenges, and who are looking for a different structure for their education.
